Have You Ever Seen A Great Website And Wanted One Exactly Like It?
Actually, it was my sister Bridgette who had contacted me to ask if I could emulate a website that she had seen to promote her new business venture which is to start her own hair and make-up academy. Bridgette is a hair and make-up artist but no ordinary hair and make-up artist, Bridgette Ellwood
is a celebrity hair and make-up artist and has well over 30 years in the trade so to speak.
Bridgette knew I had been into building websites and internet marketing for many years but I guess didn’t quite know how good or bad or to know what skill levels I had reached either. In fact, I didn’t really know what level I was at either, I mean I was doing this internet marketing stuff in my own time, granted that was probably more time than I actually spent working my day job but I never looked at it from the point of view that it was a job which is probably why a lot of folk like me didn’t really take it seriously until we realised we have invested a crapload of time and money into it with not a lot to show for it.
Unfortunately, it’s only then that we get serious or give up!
She Asked Me To Build A Website That Looked Like An Aston Martin DB7!
My sister works in different circles to me, in that she has friends that are either celebrities themselves or they seem to brighten up a room with their affluent auras, I am not sure what I can call it but I definitely don’t feel I fit in with the crowd or maybe that’s just my negative viewpoint whenever I have been in that rare situation.
Anyway, what I am getting at here is, when Bridgette sent me the details of the website that she would like me to build for her new venture, I clicked the link and was kind of taken aback to see this wonderful, classy and well laid out website that I knew must have cost a fortune to have built.
This is the website that she asked me to emulate, however, I must point out it is not the exact same website so the owner has definitely had it redesigned but its still very good but I’m fairly confident that I could do something very close to this one today…
Do I Have The Skills And Knowhow To Build A Masterpiece
As I oggl’d over the layout and the style of the site I wondered if I had the skillset to emulate this beautiful website? Nah..I really don’t think so and besides that, I know my sister would want it to be bang on and rightly so. She wouldn’t want the affluent clients to be looking at a bag of shit of a website built by her brother, it would just put them off and to be honest I didn’t want that hanging over my head and I certainly didn’t want to let Bridgette down.
I rang my sister back and gave her the bad news that I didn’t feel confident enough to emulate the site and said I would find someone else who could and get back to her. I also gave her some more bad news as I estimated that that website was highly likely to have cost the business owner up to 8K!
Researching How To Copy A Website
Obviously, I did my research on the website, like was it a WordPress theme or HTML? It certainly wasn’t a WP Theme that I could just tap into and modify it to suite Bridgette’s requirements..unfortunately, it wasn’t going to be that easy. So I started the search for a way to copy a website, was this possible and if it was, how difficult was it going to be to learn how to do it?
As I am doing this research, an idea runs through my mind as I can see that there were lots of questions about the same thing and lots of videos and Q&A type post for pages and pages. I headed over to Godaddy and typed in ” Copy Theme ” and there it was totally available and ready for me to purchase and build a website all about how to copy a website. If you know me by now then you know what happened next don’t you?……………..NOTHING!
For The Time Being It Forwards To A Great Theme That Can Be Manipulated To Copy Most Website Layouts
So, what I have done is to forward the domain to what I think is a really great WP Theme that can be easily used to create a great website and for those that know their way around WordPress could in fact copy just about any website.
As always I am happy to sell the domain, just get in touch and make me an offer or just go to the domain itself and it may be a direct link to the sales button depending on when you have read this post?
If you got this far, then I want to thank you for stopping by and I hoped that you enjoyed the post and I’ll finish off with my advice for the day which is my usual signature of saying “stay focused and enjoy your life.
